#50 – We Did It!

2025 Musings, State Countdown

50 States Complete It’s official. In September 2025 we officially visited our 50th state. We flew to Anchorage and immediately sprinted over to the Welcome to Alaska sign to document our arrival. Crossing this one off my list felt oh so good.

Welcome

I'm Aleta.  I love to travel.  If I'm not on a trip, I'm planning the next. My goal is to visit all 50 US states and the seven continents.

My Most Recent Trip

#50. We did it!

We flew to Anchorage Alaska. Immediately after we touched down we sprinted over to the Welcome to Alaska sign in the airport terminal to document our arrival. The nearest highway welcome sign was a 7+ hours drive bordering Canada. As much as we wanted to, we just didn't have enough time to fit it in on this trip.

We celebrated my birthday, ate lots of great salmon, reindeer sausage, and crab, and saw as many sights as we could.

Alaska is such a large land mass we only experienced a fraction of what that state has to offer. We have already added it to our list to visit again and again. We want to take an Alaskan cruise as well as visit during the winter months to experience some winter activities.

My Next Scheduled Trips

I'm taking a fall and winter break and then back to international travels in 2026.
