OUR STORY

We have successfully completed our quest to visit all 50 states.
The idea was hatched in 2015 while Aleta was planning a solo month long excursion through Europe and had a thought – in addition to seeing some of the cool places around the world why not also see as much of the country I was born and lived in. She had visited 13 states at that point. She set off traveling solo, with friends, with her husband. In 2021 Lorene joined in the quest after the loss of both our husbands. By then Aleta had visited 27 states with 23 to go. Lorene added up hers and it turned out to be the exact opposite, she had visited 23 and had 27 to go. After we each compiled our list, we figured out which states we overlapped, which ones we needed individually, and the remaining states we needed to complete together.

Our first trip was a road trip through Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Aleta had seen Wyoming but not Yellowstone so we centered it around that. We flew to Montana, spent some time, drove to Yellowstone, saw the wildlife, and ventured on to Idaho. Along the way we stopped at all the Visitor’s Centers, snapped a pic at the state line and collected our favorite magnet. It’s the formula we use on all our road trips.
We have traveled to single destinations but our favorite trips are multi-state road trips. We enjoy seeing a multitude of sights when we visit and to venture out and see more than just the touristy areas, but we do love those too.

Our ultimate goal is to see all 50 States (X ) and all 7 Continents. In pursuit of our goal, we’ve been to Europe, Asia, North America outside of USA, Oceania, and Lorene has also been to South America. We have Africa and Antarctica left to conquer. We absolutely love international travel, especially cruising so we have many more adventures ahead of us.

Happy travels to those that also love it.

Wanderlust is Real.
