I asked my job to let me attend a professional work related convention that was being held in Nashville. Of course My bestie and I planned a road trip around the dates.

We flew into Detroit, a new state for us both, spent a night and saw the sights, took a side trip to Windsor Ontario racking up another Canadian city, then drove through Indiana, stopping in Cincinnati Ohio (one of my favorite US cities) for two nights, then continuing on to Kentucky. We visited the Ark Encounter, one of the most fabulous things I’ve ever seen. We didn’t get to stay long. We both want to come back and visit to see and experience it all. We then drove south and visited the Makers Mark distillery for bourbon tasting.

I have previously visited Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky but they were all new for her.

After we arrived in Nashville, I spent three days at the convention and she took a day trip to see Memphis, sample the local culture and then continue on to add Arkansas to her list. The next day she took another trip to add Alabama.

I was invited to a party sponsored by one of the consultants we work with. It was a fun night hanging out at Madame Tussauds. I brought her along with me, we had a blast.

After the convention was over, we toured Nashville, taking in a jazz and blues show, shopping downtown, and visiting Fisk University.
